Building Caller ID Setting

Limit the calls your Buzzly Number will accept.

Your building's buzzer is really just a phone — when someone dials you at the door, it places a call with its own Caller ID. If you tell Buzzly to only accept calls from that number, we'll turn away everything else: wrong numbers, robocalls, and the odd telephone scam (so none of that nibbles away at your Buzztime). We highly recommend setting this up once you know your building's number.

Here's how:

  • Make sure your buzzer's been dialed a few times so Buzzly has some calls to show you.

  • On your Dashboard, open the Overview page for your Buzzly Number and click the Caller ID tile.

  • You'll see Top callers — the numbers that have been calling your Buzzly Number, with how many times each one called. Your building's buzzer is almost always the one calling most often.

  • Hit Restrict next to that number. (Know it already? Enter it by hand instead.) That's it — Buzzly now only lets that number through.

  • Changed your mind? Pop back into the same spot and clear it any time.

Not sure which number is your building's buzzer? Give us a buzz with the chat button and we'll help you track it down.
