Your apartment or condo's buzzer is a lot like any other phone, when someone dials you on your building's buzzer, it places a phone call to the number registered to you in its settings; in this case, your Buzzly number. This outgoing phone call has an associated Caller ID.
Buzzly will keep an eye on your incoming buzzes. Once we think we know what this caller ID is, you will see a prompt on your Dashboard to limit incoming calls to this number.
Prompt Example:
We highly recommend you set this limit so that Buzzly can reject all other calls that might come in and protect your Buzztime from being used up on wrong-number calls or telephone scams.
To Limit Incoming Calls to your Building's Caller ID:
Click Review Now on the prompt on your Dashboard, or choose Settings & Forwarding from the menu bar under the appropriate Buzzly Number.
Find Building Caller ID under Settings.
Click Restrict Incoming Calls.
Your settings will update to indicate that calls are restricted. You can remove this restriction by clicking the X beside the Caller ID at any time.ย
Note: This setting will not be available until Buzzly is reasonably sure of your building Caller ID.
