We get it, it's annoying when it seems like something isn't working, or that your door isn't opening when expected.
Usually, there's a very simple cause, so let's go through a few troubleshooting checks.
First, things first, make sure that your buzzer is calling your Buzzly Number, and not your own phone directly. To do this, head to your Dashboard and click Buzz History on the left. Make sure you see the calls coming into Buzzly when your buzzer is dialed.
Next, let's make sure the call is being handled by either a Virtual Fob or a Scheduled Access period. From your Buzz History, make sure the calls say "Opened by Virtual Fob" or "Opened by Schedule Period". If not, and they say something like "Answered By [Phone Number" or "No Forwarding Number(s) Set", or "Forwarded Call Unanswered", this means you have not yet set up an automated entry method, or one wasn't active at the time of that buzz. To solve that, set up a Scheduled Access Period or a Virtual Fob.
If your Buzz History says "Opened by Virtual Fob [ Fob Name ]" or "Opened by Schedule [ Schedule Name ]" and the door isn't opening, then it's possible that the unlock button currently set for your Buzzly Number isn't playing nice with your building, read on for ways to resolve this...
Our standard Unlock Button settings are successful for the vast majority of Buzzly users, but in rare cases, your building's buzzer might need some special attention. (And really, who can blame it?)
If your building simply requires a single key to be pressed (i.e. any of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 * #) and our standard setting isn't working, you may wish to enable the Alternate Unlock Tone setting and give that a try.
Some buildings require a combination of buttons to be pressed when you receive a phone call and others just like a slightly different type of tone. Not to worry! Buzzly supports all of these types of customizations.
